Our Story
You could say that our story began with doughnuts. One dozen delicious doughnuts from Granny's in Bozeman … wait, it may have been two dozen! (Andrew has a feeling it was only 1 dozen but the photo evidence is inconclusive.)
It was barely spring of 2021 and Kelsey and Andrew had started to text back and forth (yes they are one of THOSE couples that met through a dating app.) Kelsey was on her way to meet her best friends Andrea and David and their new baby in Kalispell. At Andrea and David’s wedding they had Granny’s Gourmet Donuts in lieu of a wedding cake and every time Kelsey drove up to Kalispell she would attempt to bring them a dozen (or two). To celebrate the birth of Sophronia, Kelsey was bent on surprising them with a dozen (or two) on this visit.
Unfortunately, Kelsey knew between what we call “Tanner time” and her terrible work life balance boundaries, she would never make it to Granny’s on time. This place makes the best doughnuts in Bozeman and is notorious for selling out within a couple hours of opening. Enter Andrew. Andrew had the morning off and promised he could retrieve the donuts and pass them off to Kelsey in the afternoon. It was on this day the couple first met as the promise was fulfilled (as pictured… Yes, this is the actual picture from the first ever Doughnut Day, April 16th 2021!)
Thanks to the fuel of the celebratory doughnuts, Andrea, David, and Kelsey were able to accomplish their weekend plans of biking the Going-to-the-Sun Road. It was tradition for this group to try and bike Logan Pass in Glacier National Park a few times a year before the road opened to cars.
Andrew and Kelsey talked on the phone and it was revealed that Andrew’s family had a cabin in the Park.
Between the doughnuts and the cabin David jokingly said it was imperative that Kelsey marry Andrew.
Doughnuts are a fun anecdote but this brings us to the true original connection Andrew and Kelsey made, their shared love for Glacier NP.
Kelsey (a well versed traveler) believes there is nothing more beautiful in the world than biking down Going-to-the-Sun Road and taking in the beautiful landscape. Andrew, who would never even consider such an effort, had the nostalgia of visiting the family cabin throughout his life and of course he and “the boys” loved to throw rocks at the buoy. Through their shared love of this place their relationship blossomed into silly dates, backpacking trips, and football games. Andrew, the only consistent Jaguars fan since 1995, knew he would marry Kelsey when he realized her favorite colors ran the spectrum of shades of teal and gold. They moved in together late fall of 2021 and adopted a rescue dog Bailey. In 2023 at a Jaguars game in Jacksonville, Florida (that they actually won) Andrew proposed to Kelsey. They always knew exactly where they would start their union and hope you can meet us there to share in this day.
